For Young People

Have ideas about what could work better for young people in your community? Youth Action Boards in Bismarck and Fargo give youth a place to share their perspectives, help shape programs and systems, work on projects, and connect with other young people who want to make a difference. You don’t need leadership experience or public speaking skills to participate. Youth decide what issues matter to the group and what they want to work on, while Youthworks staff help connect them with the information, resources, and opportunities to turn their ideas into action. You choose what experiences you want to share. Your perspective is enough to start. Call, email, or message Youthworks to learn about the Youth Action Board in your community and how to get involved.

For Parents, Caregivers & Community Partners

Youth Action Boards create meaningful opportunities for young people to influence the programs, systems, and community decisions that affect them. Youth in Bismarck and Fargo draw from their own experiences and perspectives to identify priorities, advise organizations and community partners, develop projects, and recommend changes that make services and communities work better for young people. Youthworks supports members with skill-building, resources, connections, and access to decision-makers while youth help determine the direction of the work. The goal goes beyond asking youth for feedback: it creates a structure for youth to participate in shaping what happens next. Youth can connect directly, and adults can help interested youth make that connection. Call, email, or message Youthworks to learn about current opportunities.
