For Young People

If you have left home, are thinking about leaving, or don’t feel like you can safely stay where you are right now, you can contact Youthworks. You do not have to wait until you are sleeping somewhere else to ask for help. We’ll start by listening to what is happening and what you need right now. That might include a safe place to stay, food or other basic needs, help working through conflict at home, or figuring out what needs to happen next. When returning home is safe and possible, we can work with you and your family to make that easier. When it isn’t, we can help look at other options. Call, email, or message Youthworks if you need help or want to talk about what is happening.

For Parents, Caregivers & Community Partners

Youthworks’ Runaway Program provides immediate support to youth who have left home, are considering leaving, or are experiencing circumstances that make remaining at home difficult or unsafe. Staff begin with the youth’s immediate safety and needs and may provide crisis support, shelter, food and basic necessities, family support, counseling, mediation, and connections to other resources. When returning home is safe and appropriate, Youthworks can help youth and families address the circumstances that contributed to the youth leaving and work toward a safer return. When reunification is not immediately possible, staff help identify other safe options and ongoing support. Youth and families can contact Youthworks directly, and schools, providers, law enforcement, and other community partners can help make the connection. Call, email, or message Youthworks for assistance.
